Would you like to live in an 80% more energy efficient home with cleaner, healthier air? I know it's fun to send Excel energy lots of money every month, but what if you didn't have to? Last night I had the opportunity to attend a presentation on the Passive House standard from the Colorado Renewable Energy Society, where they explained that this is real, possible now, and being done right here in Colorado. One of the presenters, Brian Fuentes is a Boulder based architect who is one of a small but growing group of passionate people promoting Passive house construction. It's easy to be impressed by the engineering and design involved with this, and I hope that it grows and becomes the new building standard. As an architectural photographer I am intrigued by this and can't wait to photograph some new buildings! Thanks to Brian Fuentes and Lance Wright for the presentation, and Todd Collins for the invite!

A few years back we photographed Rachna's sister's wedding, so it was a great to hear from her as she's planning her own wedding. They're city people, but happily endured the silence (Atul is not used to so much quiet) of a perfect snowy mountain day for our little photo session. It's always fun to do engagement photos in an environment that's opposite to what the wedding will be. Theirs will be urban and summer, so these photos are completely different than what they'll have at their wedding. Jessica and I can't wait for their wedding, a traditional Indian celebration complete with Atul riding in on a white horse!

Little Forest is making great strides in cuteness these days. This was a fun shoot, and what I like about these photos below is that they are all completely different. They're like little individual stories of his life, his expressions and reactions to what's going on around him. His very first Christmas tree went up the night before our shoot, so it was great fun to grab the lights and gaze up at the big tree now in the house. Big thanks to Holly and Rob for letting me be a part of documenting his first year!
