2011 was a fun year, with lots of weddings in favorite locations and some great new ones. Below are some favorites I picked from the year, lots are mine, some are Jesse's and Samantha's too. It's not easy picking these! There's a lot here and I cut it down from a much bigger number! More favorite posts to come with engagements and kids!

Little did I know when I got a call from Rachel for some engagement photos last spring that I'd end up in Omaha for their wedding! They had two great venues, St. John's Catholic Church (stunning!), and the hip Magnolia Hotel in downtown Omaha. The best part of the day was seeing this great big family come together for their wedding. Congratulations Rachel and Jim! You're great together and we wish you all the best.

“For more than 116 years, The Brown Palace Hotel has catered to the event needs of kings, presidents and rock stars”. This quote is straight from their website, and it got me thinking yesterday after checking out their site. Of the three choices, it seems vastly more appealing and fun to be a rock star. Now you could pick up and become an international star, or maybe just add a bit of rock and roll style to your life, your wedding, your photos.
The photos below are from a wedding we did there a few years back, and the couple, Dan and Jen completely rocked their style with a custom Dr. Suess inspired, rhyming ceremony, sycronized dance moves, to just having a blast with every aspect of their day. Some of our most memorable weddings ever became favorites because the couples brought great elements of their style into them and ran with it. Dan and Jen met playing World of Warcraft. Maybe not very rock and roll, but the way they ran with it made everyone smile and they became one of our favorite couples ever. So call it all it rock and roll, DIY, steam punk, vintage, or something we haven’t heard of yet. Whatever it may be, we love helping make your photos uniquely you and have the experience to make it happen! Thing is, I thought I knew a lot about photography when graduating from Brooks, something about weddings a few years ago when we shot 37 weddings in a year. But I'm still learning new things every time I go out and shoot, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Love the adventure of this job and all the cool peeps we get to work with!
You'll see a RockN-Roll Bride approved vendor badge below that we got when featured on her blog for this shoot!
