Would you like to live in an 80% more energy efficient home with cleaner, healthier air? I know it's fun to send Excel energy lots of money every month, but what if you didn't have to? Last night I had the opportunity to attend a presentation on the Passive House standard from the Colorado Renewable Energy Society, where they explained that this is real, possible now, and being done right here in Colorado. One of the presenters, Brian Fuentes is a Boulder based architect who is one of a small but growing group of passionate people promoting Passive house construction. It's easy to be impressed by the engineering and design involved with this, and I hope that it grows and becomes the new building standard. As an architectural photographer I am intrigued by this and can't wait to photograph some new buildings!
